City of Ashland Committees & Boards
- Board of Aldermen - The Board of Aldermen currently meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the meeting room of Ashland City Hall at 109 East Broadway. Members of this Board are elected to office for a two year term. The public is welcomed and encouraged to attend. The agenda is posted at City Hall. If you would like to have something on the agenda it should be presented to the City Clerk, in writing, at least seven (7) days prior to a regularly scheduled meeting. The Board of Aldermen will accept items to be placed on the agenda up to 24 hours prior to the meeting.
- Planning & Zoning Commission - The Planning & Zoning Commission consists of one Board of Aldermen member, and 6 or more citizens at large. The board reviews and recommends action to the Board of Aldermen on re-zoning requests as well as future planning. The Planning and Zoning clerk is Jessica Wenger she can be reached at 573-657-2091.The Planning and Zoning Board meets the 2nd Tuesday of the month if there is a need to call a meeting. The agenda is also posted at City Hall. If you would like to have something on the agenda, it must be presented to the Planning and Zoning Clerk by the meeting deadline date. - Parks and Recreation Board - This Board consists of 7 members and oversees the City park system and makes recommendations for park improvements, organizes the Fall Festival, Easter egg hunt and other community events. Volunteers are always welcome to help with all events. The Parks & Recreation Board Clerk is A.Wade Middaugh and he can be reached at City Hall at (573) 657-2091.
- Fall Festival Committee - This committee is a sub committee of the Parks & Recreation Board but is open to all citizens including those who live outside the City limits. This committee helps organize and run our largest community event, which includes a parade, music, games, crafts and more. Please contact A. - Board of Adjustment - The Board of Adjustment reviews requests for variances to the zoning regulations. Requests typically include variances to the building setback regulations or sign regulations. It is a five member board and 3 alternates. Meetings are not held unless there is an item on the agenda.
- Law Enforcement Advisory Committee - This five member Board serves as a way to communicate concerns from our citizens to the administration over issues related to our police department. They are also called to give input on policy and staffing changes. This Board does not meet on a regular basis but only when meetings are requested by a Board member or by the Administration.
