The City of Ashland currently provides water, sewer, and trash services for citizens inside the city limits. Utility billing is handled by the Utility Clerk each month. Monthly utility bills are sent out to customers at the end of each month and are due on the 15th of the month by close of business at 5 p.m.

When are bills mailed out to customers?
Utility bills are processed the last week of the month and mailed out on the last business day of each month.
When are utility bills due?
Utility bills are always due on the 15th of each month. If the 15th of the month falls on a weekend, customers are allowed to make payments without penalty until the following Monday at 5:00 p.m.
What are the penalties added to my account if I pay my bill late?
If payment is not made by the due date at close of business, a late fee of 10% will be applied to each account. Customers will be sent a notice telling them of the late fee that has been assessed as well as the date of disconnection for non-payment.
I’m moving into town, what is the process I will need to complete to sign up for utility services?
New customers will need to come to City Hall at 109 E. Broadway to fill out a Water, Sewer, and Trash Service Contract and pay a $50.00 deposit on residential services. To have services put in your name the same day the customer must be in by 3:00 pm. If in after 3:00 p.m. services will be put in your name the next business day.
What are the current charges and rates for utility services in Ashland?
As of 2007, the rates for utility services in Ashland are as follows:
Water: $8.50 base charge monthly and $3.50/thousand gallons.
Sewer: $8.50 base charge monthly and $3.40/thousand gallons.
Trash: $10.81 charge for residential customers.
