MESSAGE FROM THE CHIEF

On behalf of the men and women of the Ashland Police Department, we welcome you to our website and thank you for taking the time to learn about our organization. I invite you to browse our website and familiarize yourself with the various dimensions of our department. My hope is that these pages provide useful and interesting information about the police department and the services we currently provide.

The Ashland Police Department is committed to providing professional public safety services to our residents, business partners and visitors. Ashland Police Officers work as a team with the public to meet this goal of a safe, orderly and peaceful community, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

Our officers perform their jobs with courage, ethical behavior, commitment and professionalism. I believe in using the highest standard of personal and organizational excellence, and development of the organization through honesty, morality and maintaining high integrity.

The dedicated professionals of the Ashland Police Department serve a population of approximately 5,000 citizens. Our staff includes eleven sworn police officers (8 full-time & 3 part-time), and one civilian staff. Every member of the Ashland Police Department truly cares about the safety of our community and providing excellent customer service. Our staff responds to the public safety needs of the community with the most effective measures available within our existing resources with the primary focus of ensuring the safety and well-being of our citizens and visitors.

We value your input and appreciate your ideas and opinions. Please contact me if you find that the Police Department is not living up to our goals and values or if you happen to notice an employee performing his/her job in an especially commendable manner. We will take your input very seriously. As your chief of police, I will always listen to your needs and strive to be open and honest with community members as well as the men and women with whom I serve. Thank you for your continuing support in our efforts to achieve our mission.
