The Broadway Beautification Task Force was formed in January, 2020  to gather community input for improving the Broadway corridor along with the following objectives:
    • Evaluate and recommend ways to improve the corridor, including:
    • Establishing a sense of place
    • Attractiveness
    • Walkability
    • Public Spaces
    • Street Lighting
    • Public Safety
    • Cleanliness
    • Marketing and events
    • Designing a street that is safe, vibrant and healthy
    • Communicating the importance of the area to Ashland
    • Funding for improvements
In November, 2020 at the recommendation of the Task Force, the City secured a Community Empowerment Grant from Missouri Main Street organization help Ashland form a Main Street program and begin building a successful downtown with new investment, businesses, residents and events celebrating all that makes a downtown the heart of the community. 
A Town Hall meeting was conducted on February 17 to introduce the Main Street program to the community and to solicit feedback on the process and approach to revitalizing Ashland's downtown.
